Open Day & Open Mornings 

Open Day – Saturday 7th November 2026 at 10:00am 

We are delighted to invite parents who are considering a Nursery or Reception place at St Francis Primary School for September 2027 to our Open Day. 

The morning will begin with a talk from our Headteacher at 10:00am, followed by small-group tours of the school, led by members of staff. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about life at St Francis. 

Additional Open Mornings 

For parents who are unable to attend our Open Day, we are offering additional opportunities to visit the school. 

The Open Mornings will take place at the following times: 

Friday 13th November 2026 – 11:00 am 

Friday 20th November 2026 – 11:00 am 

Friday 27th November 2026 – 11:00 am 

Friday 4th December 2026 – 11:00 am 

Friday 8th January 2027– 11:00 am 

These sessions provide an opportunity to look around our school, meet members of staff and find out more about our Nursery and Reception provision.

Reception Admissions for September 2027 

If you are applying for your child to start Reception in September 2027, the deadline for submitting an application is: 

Friday 15th January 2027 

Applications must be made through the Swindon Borough Council website. Primary school admissions for September 2027 | Primary school places and admissions | Swindon Borough Council

If you are applying for a Church place, you will also need to complete the school's Supplementary Information Form and return it directly to the school office, by Friday 15th January 2027. 

Nursery Admissions for September 2027 

There are currently a few Nursery sessions available for this academic year. Please contact the school office for further information. 

If you are applying for a Nursery place for September 2027, application forms are available below or from the school office. 

The deadline for Nursery applications for September 2027 start date is: 

Friday 27th March 2027 

We will inform parents during April 2027 whether their child has been successful in being offered a place. 

Completed application forms can be emailed to admissions@stfrancis.swindon.sch.uk or returned directly to the school office. 

If you are applying for a Church place, please also complete a Supplementary Information Form and return it to the school office by the relevant deadline. 

In Year Admissions 

An in-year transfer is an application for a school place during the school year. 

This may be because your family has moved to the area, you are moving house, or you are looking for a different school for your child. 

Applications for an in-year transfer are coordinated by Swindon Borough Council. 

Parents and carers should complete the online In-Year Transfer application through Swindon Borough Council.
